I grew up in a town called Olathe, KS about twenty minutes from downtown Kansas City, MO. Back then there were still plenty of empty fields and lots of woods to play in. For a long time the closest McDonald’s was ten minutes away and I bought Garbage Pail Kids and button candy at Kerr’s pharmacy and comic books from Dillon’s grocery store. It was the type of place where you got to know all the birds by the sounds of their calls during the bus ride home after school.
In high school I experienced an existential crisis through exposure to community theatre, Quentin Tarantino movies and My So-Called Life. I decided I wanted to be an actor and writer. My parents shipped me up to Michigan to attend Interlochen Arts Academy and study the art of classical theatre and dressing for the winter. After a four-year layover in Pittsburgh, PA in the form of attending Carnegie Mellon University, I finally made it out to LA, where I’m working hard to appease the pipe dreams of a despondent 15 year-old still trapped in Kansas circa 1994.
I currently live in Hollywood, CA with my two dogs, Albie (the English bulldog) and Violet (the scrappy one) and some various plant life.
